Network Equipment Refurbishment in Kenya
7 Oct 2026
Switches, routers and access points are often retired while they still have useful life. Refurbishment tests them, repairs what is wrong and returns them as spares or for lower-priority sites.

Why network equipment suits refurbishment
Network devices are typically replaced because of a fault or a planned upgrade, not because they are worn out. Many retired units are sound or have a single repairable fault, and a tested spare is worth more than an untested one.
What the work involves
Each unit is received against a record, inspected, powered up under current limiting and tested across its power, ports and PoE stages. Failed parts are replaced, fans and capacitors may be renewed, and the unit is run warm before it is signed off.
Firmware and configuration
Hardware refurbishment is separate from software configuration. Units are returned to a known hardware condition, and you apply your own configuration and firmware policy. Hardware-level firmware recovery is available where a unit will not boot.
Where refurbished units are used
Common uses are as spares for critical sites, in lower-priority locations and in lab or training networks. Whether a unit is suitable for a given role is your decision, based on its tested condition.
When it is not worth it
Very low-cost devices, units with extensive damage and models that no longer meet your security or performance needs are usually better replaced. Assessment shows which applies to each unit.
